I know kids, and if there's one thing that nine year olds want from their comics it's veiled references to early 1960s blues songs. I see them in newsagents, listlessly thumbing through Spiderman and Swamp Thing and Tracey Lorimer, Lens Grinder until they slap them back on the stands, lips quivering, demanding of their mother, "where's Mr Charlie? Where's the John the Conquerer root? Lawdy, mama, where's the mojo?"
