Rust Never Sleeps #10, and a bit of #9 again.

Three new completed canvasses. I've been dabbling and fiddling with these for a long time, and changed the whole bottom half of 177 because I felt the balance of the painting wasn't right as it was.

These are off up to a new gallery in Dunbar on Monday, so I'm hoping a couple will be on display for the opening on Saturday.

  1. Geez louise Rich! These are extraordinary, are they drawn from local boats?

  2. Thanks!

Yes, the bottom two are both boats in Eyemouth harbour. The top one's actually a wreck ('The Children's Friend') on one of the Farne Islands.

'177' is particularly close to my heart at the moment because the gallery sold it, and I went up this morning to replace it with the bottom one. It's quite odd to think I may never see the top one again, and I'd only just finished it. But exciting to think of someone getting enjoyment out of it, wherever it's gone.
