Charlotte Bank Monsoon Observatory.
New drawing, on one of the last bits of maritime chart I've got left. It's been a couple of months since I did any proper artwork other than quick sketches (job getting inconveniently in the way) and it was really nice to sit down and put some hours in on fiddly cross hatching.

| Berwick Bay, Late Evening. Oil on board, 91cm x 61cm.
Last year we had a long look around the Symbolist Landscape exhibition in Edinburgh, which was uniformly brilliant. There were so many atmospheric evening and twilight paintings, particularly Riddarfjarden by Eugene Janssen, which I was mesmerised by. Two paintings came out of this, of which this was the second and the more problematic. Took me a long time to get it to the point I was reasonably happy with it.

Mixed feelings. It was a nice idea, and I quite like the colouring (the idea of it anyway) but I think yet again I've kind of failed to ignore the feeling I 'should' be drawing in a certain way. It could be that when it comes to comic work that I just don't particularly know what my style is.
