Two new 'uns for the Crossing Borders Art Trail weekemd, 5th-7th September.

The Price of Fish: H32 White and 92 Maroon. Oil on canvas. I've another one on the go that should also be ready for then, and it's a whopper.

Faustian Pact.

I did exactly the wrong thing here, and agreed to let the feller from Le Sport Velo use this painting of Fausto Coppi for free. I got nowt for it. No fee. Nothing. Ordinarily I hold that the problem with exposure is that you can die from it, but I'm afraid just this one time they got me at a weak point, and I just couldn't resist the chance of getting in a French cycling magazine. In French.

Also it might be churlish to have a thing printed and complain that it's not all that well reproduced, but still - there it is. French cycling magazine. Fausto Coppi. Me.

Squarescapes

New squarescapes; two from the Borders, two from last year's honeymoon trip in the Highlands.

Some of the new work I'll have on display at Allanbank Arts during the Crossing Borders Art Trail, September 6th-9th.

Point and Shoot.

One of my favourite films, Miller's Crossing, the Coen brothers' stylish gangster masterpiece from 1990, featuring the great Albert Finney as Leo - who, despite his age, still has it in him.

The Rabbit Speaks His Mind

If you need warnings about rude words, this contains one. And it's quite uncomplimentary about Batman, too.

The words are from Reginald D Hunter. There's a nod to* the work of San Fransisco Examiner photographer Chris Hardy in there as well.
