Eventide, Good, Falling Quickly.

Berwick Bay, Late Evening. Oil on board, 91cm x 61cm.

Last year we had a long look around the Symbolist Landscape exhibition in Edinburgh, which was uniformly brilliant. There were so many atmospheric evening and twilight paintings, particularly Riddarfjarden by Eugene Janssen, which I was mesmerised by. Two paintings came out of this, of which this was the second and the more problematic. Took me a long time to get it to the point I was reasonably happy with it.

Thieves.

Mixed feelings. It was a nice idea, and I quite like the colouring (the idea of it anyway) but I think yet again I've kind of failed to ignore the feeling I 'should' be drawing in a certain way. It could be that when it comes to comic work that I just don't particularly know what my style is.

The Dog is Salty But the Fish is Freshwater.

Had some time to draw today for the first time in about two an a half weeks.

Another in the 'Salty Dog' series.
